Handmade variation is not automatically a flaw. Small differences in line, alignment, brushwork, inlay or texture can show where a maker’s hand entered the process. The useful distinction is between variation that belongs to the technique and careless finishing that interrupts the object.
What to look for when buying
For online buying, good photographs should show more than a single front view. Details, edges, backs, joins and scale help you understand the object more accurately. Dimensions and material descriptions are especially important when the piece is intended as a gift or for international shipping.
Choose scale according to where the object will live. Smaller pieces can introduce pattern into a minimal room, while larger objects need more visual space around them. For gifts, compact objects and textiles often travel more easily than large fragile pieces.
Living with Persian craft
Persian craft does not require a historically styled interior. A single handmade object can sit comfortably beside contemporary wood, stone, glass or neutral textiles. The most convincing rooms usually give detailed objects enough empty space to be seen clearly.
